Going to Tokyo (not the clearest of days)

Police Van

It is kind of hard to tell, but along with trying
to show you how massive Tokyo is, we are also
trying to let you see how close the buildings are
to the "freeway"

These signs are all around the interstate/freeway.
Driving here is very quiet because of the close quarters,
people try to be very respectful of those sleeping! You
can see the buildings just beyond the sign - those are
apartments.

This is Tokyo Tower

Tokyo Bay

Headed up to the mountains

Vending machines are everywhere - instead of
fast food restaurants, they have vending machines

This European telephone booth seemed a bit
out of place so we took a pic.

This is how the park cars and bikes...you have a
key that you when used will literally rotate the cars
or bikes down and around so you can either get your or find
an empty space to park!!!

Miscellaneous Shots

He can longer do this without bending his knees!

Our Rebel

Getting ready to show M. around

The stickers lets people know we've been
driving for less than year! (We get in less
trouble if there's an accident.)

Quilt by Aunt P.

Obviously, they are thrilled having their pic
taken, but I wanted to show the how wide
drive was (or should I say, was not)

Their idea of a car port

I guess this would be convenient for bringing in
the kids and the groceries!

The Playground

"King of the Mountain"

"Want Up?"

"Sshh, I hidin' "

"Rrrr, I comin' to get you Koka!"

E. running with his long legs

Bubble Play
(this picture was taking in FEBRUARY, I had
to let E. take off his coat because it was just too HOT!)

There go the bubbles....

Playing hopscotch

E.'s turn

What We've Been Up To...

E. wants to be like his big brother

"Hi."

Daddy entertaining E.
(see below)

You can barely see, but if you look closely
between electrical towers you can see
snow-capped Mt. Fuji. This picture was
taken from the top of the building
where our grocery store is.

Another view from the roof parking lot on base.

D. had originally done this on E., but
we couldn't get E. to lay still long enough
to get a picture!

E. enjoying the train ride to Tokyo

D. "tall enough" to reach the handles
on the train

E. and T. in front of the T-Rex at the
museum in Tokyo

"AAhhh, he's going to get me!"

E. building "our house"
I am pretty sure he did not mean the one in Japan.

This is a video rental store. It is very hard to
tell but there are only 3 car parking spaces with
bike parking on right side. Maybe it that would not
be a big deal, except that there is only room for
one car to get in or out at a time!

This is a 2-way street. Please note that we had
already turned onto the street before taking the
picture. The white line indicates where you have to
when coming out of the street so that oncoming
traffic has enough room to turn onto the street!

Shrimp with eyes, raw oysters, squid, and fish
mmmm.....the makings of a good salad.....

...well, at least somebody thinks so!
